A Letter from Pastor Craig

Dear Church Family

It is hard to believe but as 2022 rolls around Gold Country Church will begin the 12th year of local ministry here in the Foothills.  In some ways that astounds me, but in most ways I just smile at what God has begun and continues to do as we continue serving, loving and sharing the Good News of Jesus with those we meet.

I know you already understand the difficult past almost two years have been on our world, nation, state, community and individual families and people.  There have been and continue to be challenges that we face beyond our ability to avoid.  Like you we are seeking to be faithful to God, our own families, friends and fellow humans as we continue navigating a world in transition.

I want to make you aware of a challenge facing not just Gold Country Church, but churches and families all around us.  With the onset of the pandemic and challenges that came with that, like many others we sought to be faithful to God, love our neighbors, and be good tenants to those who own this building we lease.

From midway through 2020 to this date today, we have seen between 250-300 people either move out of state or leave Gold Country Church.  The result is a shortage in tithes and offerings that has been and is a great challenge.  From day one, Gold Country Church has been out in the public loving our neighbors, helping with needs and choosing to be a light in the community.  Not perfect by any means, but faithful to how we have been led by God to serve.

I want to humbly ask you to consider two things.  Please, if you are not already, pray about becoming a consistent tither to Gold Country Church.  Also, if you are one who gives generously to non-profits for end of the year gifts, please consider giving to Gold Country Church in that way.  You will bless this church and community and get the blessing of the tax benefit all in one.  It is never easy to write this kind of letter, but I am convinced we are meant to be here doing what we are doing for the glory of God.

Thank you for taking time to read and pray through this letter.  Praying a Hope-filled, Peace-Filled, Joy-Filled, Love-Filled Christmas Season as we celebrate Family, Friends and most importantly the coming of Immanuel!

In HIS Grip
